Install

macOS Installation

  1. Open your Downloads folder
  2. Double-click Bookkeeping_OCR_v1.0.0.dmg
  3. Drag the "Bookkeeping-OCR" icon to your "Applications" folder
  4. Eject the DMG when the copy is complete

Windows Installation

  1. Open your Downloads folder
  2. Double-click Bookkeeping_OCR_v1.0.0.exe
  3. If prompted by Windows security, click "More Info β†’ Run Anyway"
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation

Launch

Open your Applications folder and double-click Bookkeeping-OCR

Troubleshooting

macOS: "Bookkeeping-OCR is damaged and can't be opened"

This is a standard macOS security warning for apps downloaded directly. To fix:

  1. Open Terminal (Applications β†’ Utilities β†’ Terminal)
  2. Paste this command and press Enter:
    xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Bookkeeping-OCR.app
  3. Try launching the app again
Windows: "Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen warning

This appears for new applications not yet widely distributed. Bookkeeping-OCR is safe to install.

  • Click "More info" in the SmartScreen dialog
  • Then click "Run anyway"
  • The app will install and launch normally
App won't launch

If the app doesn't launch after installation:

  1. Restart your computer and try again
  2. Check permissions: Ensure you have admin rights (Windows) or the app isn't quarantined (macOS)
  3. Check disk space: Make sure you have at least 50 MB of free space
  4. Reinstall: Uninstall the app completely and reinstall from a fresh copy
  5. Contact support: Email support@bookkeeping-ocr.com with your OS version and any error messages
